Mechanic settlement rules
For: owner and manager
Updated October 28, 2026
A rule says how you pay a given mechanic. Without a rule their work doesn't count towards the total, and the month can't be closed.
The usual kinds
- Per job: a fixed amount for each collected job where the mechanic has labour lines.
- Per hour of labour: the rate times the hours on their labour lines.
- Percent of labour: a percentage of the net value of their labour, after discounts as on the invoice.
- Per hour of shift: the hours of their shifts in the rota count, breaks left out.
Only jobs collected in the month count, and only labour lines assigned to the mechanic. Lines the customer declined don't count. When two mechanics worked on a job, each is paid for their own labour.
- Settled outside the app: the app works nothing out.
Adding a rule
- In Team open the mechanic's page and the Settlement tab.
- Click Add rule, choose the kind, the rate and the start date.
- Save.
On the same page you can tick Sees their own settlement so the mechanic sees their amounts in the app.
Changing the rate
Don't edit the old rule: click Change and say from when the new terms apply. That way closed months stay as they were. End ends the rule on the day you choose.
Note Settlement rules are being extended right now, so field names and options may still change.
