Job orders

For: everyone

Updated October 28, 2026

A job order is one stay of one car in the workshop: the customer's complaint, the intake, the work and parts lines, and each stage up to handing the car back.

A new job

  1. In the Jobs menu click New job. You can also open a job from a booking in the calendar, and the car is filled in for you.
  2. Choose the customer and their car.
  3. Enter the Complaint and the Ready by time. Without a time we assume 17:00.
  4. Click Open job.

The number comes by itself, e.g. ZL/2026/0001, starting again each year. Search the list by number, plate, VIN or customer.

Stages

Booked, Received, Diagnosing, Awaiting approval, Waiting for parts, In progress, Ready, Collected. Stages can be skipped forward. In progress can go back to approval or parts, and ready back to in progress. Only the intake with its protocol leads to Received. Cancel job needs a reason. Every change goes into the Timeline with who and when.

Lines

Add line adds labour, a part, external work or a discount. Labour is hours times the rate from Workshop settings → Jobs. Prices are gross, with a VAT rate on each line. A collected or cancelled job can't be changed.

Who does what

Reception and managers open jobs, add lines and move stages. A mechanic sees the jobs where they have labour assigned, marks their own lines done and adds photos. They see amounts only if a manager turns on Mechanics see prices.
